Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen, founders of Hilarity for Charity (HFC), have transformed the fight against Alzheimer’s with their innovative and humorous approach. Since its launch in 2012, the organization has raised over $20 million and provided support to hundreds of thousands of families affected by this devastating disease. Inspired by Lauren’s personal experience with her mother’s Alzheimer’s, the Rogens created HFC with a mission to support caregivers, raise public awareness, and fund brain health research.
One of HFC’s most impactful programs is the Caregiver Respite Program, offering professional in-home care hours to families, allowing caregivers much-needed breaks. This program has provided over 325,000 hours of care across the U.S., significantly improving the lives of those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s.
In 2024, HFC launched key initiatives focused on brain health education for both youth and adults, aimed at teaching healthy lifestyle habits that can help prevent Alzheimer’s. These initiatives include HFC Universe, a digital platform that educates college and high school students on brain health through a mix of entertainment and science.
Additionally, HFC’s annual events, such as comedy shows and galas, have brought many celebrities on board to support the cause. Seth and Lauren believe in the power of humor to make tough topics like Alzheimer’s more approachable, encouraging discussions around prevention and care.
Seth and Lauren have shown that blending entertainment and philanthropy can create lasting impact, bringing light and support to millions affected by Alzheimer’s and mobilizing a new generation to take action.
